7.     THE DOCTOR SAID THAT HE WOULD NOT DIE

8.     BOBY SAID WHETHER DOCTOR REALY THOUGHT SO

9.     DR. SMITH ANSWERED THAT MRS. ADAMS SON HAD A SICKNESS THAT WAS VERY COMMON TO BOYS AT A TIME LIKE THIS

10.                        MRS. ADAMS SAID THAT STILL SHE DIDN’T UNDERSTAND

11.                        THE DOCTOR TOLD HER THAT THE MOST IMPORTAINT BASEBALL GAME OF THE YEAR WAS ON TELEVISION

Talking About Sickness and Health

     Boby Adams was very quiet as Dr. Smith examined him. The doctor looked at the boy’s throat, took his temperature and listened to his heart. Finally, he asked boby’s mother a  few questions.

     “ When did boby begin to feel ill?”

     “ This morning when he got up.  He said he felt too sick to go to school today”.

     “ He had orange juice. Two pieces of buttered toast, dry cereal, and milk.”

     “ I see “ The doctor asked boby, “ how do you feel now, my boy?”

     Boby answered, “ Terrible. I think I’m going to die.

     The doctor said, “ You wont die. In fact, you’ll be fine by dinner time.”

     “ oh, Doctor! Do you really think so?” boby mother looked very glad.

     Dr. smith answered, “ Mrs. Adams, your son has a sickness that is very common to boys at atime like this. It comes and goes very quicly.”

     Mrs adams said, “ But I don’t understand.”

     “ Today,” the doctor told her, “ the most important baseball game of the year is on television. If boby fells well enough to watch television this afternoon. And I think he does, he will be fine when the game is finished. It’s the only cure I know for this sickness. Now, if you’ll excuseme, I must go across the street to see the Morton’s boy. Alfred, he seems to have the same thing Boby has today.”
